All our bottom trawls are manufactured from high quality PE netting, supplied by the Dutch company Van Beelen. If requested, we will manufacture from Dyneema® netting also from Van Beelen.
We believe every trawl and every vessel as well as every fishery is unique. Be it in the deep water fisheries or the inshore type of fishery. Hence, rather than saying that a particular trawl model is the best for all circumstances, and promote a trawl name, we believe in discussing your needs, the fishery, the vessel capability, and then coming up with a solution particularly suited to your fishery, to your vessel and to your needs.
These Trawls have been used extensively around the waters off the New Zealand Coast, the waters of Australia, South Africa, Chile, France, Argentina, Namibia the Indian Ocean and more.
All Trawls can and will be manufactured to the customers individual requirements which cover a range of Vessels from 350hp - 6000hp (260kw - 4478kw).
As with all our gear, Motueka Nets will quote on complete fishing rigs, including bridles, cod ends, spare netting, twines, ropes, Dyneema® rope, lengtheners and trawl doors. Also, please ask regarding the option of using "Dyneema®" for your next trawl, either using your existing type of trawl or one from our range that we would recommend.
"Motueka Nets" manufacture a complete and diverse range of deep water trawls. These have been developed and used internationally for the capture of a wide range of fish species! for example:
With the diversity of fish species and different names for different countries it is impossible to list them all, but here are some examples:
Our Inshore Trawls are designed to capture all traditional inshore fish species from Flat Fish to Hake, Monk and Squid. These Trawls are designed for Vessels from 50 HP (37 kw) to 6000 HP (4478 kw). With smaller vessels with smaller horsepower, many are enjoying the ease with which they are able to tow their gear in bad weather as well as turning or making other manoeuvers.
